Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Cement Truck Driver to operate a tractor-trailer combination or a heavy-duty truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of at least 26,001 pounds. The ideal candidate will have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and experience in transporting cement and other construction materials. This role involves adherence to safety protocols, efficient driving practices, and may require unloading materials at construction sites. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Operate cement trucks safely and efficiently to transport materials to various job sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cement and other materials, ensuring accurate delivery quantities.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and construction site personnel.
- Address any mechanical issues promptly and report them to maintenance personnel.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the truck interior and exterior.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a cement truck driver or in a similar heavy-duty driving role.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and perform basic maintenance tasks.
- Strong physical stamina to handle the demands of loading and unloading materials.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional certifications are a plus.
- Experience with GPS navigation and route planning is advantageous.
