Job Brief
We are seeking a motivated Brickmason Apprentice to join our team. In this entry-level position, you will assist experienced brickmasons in laying and binding various building materials, including brick, concrete block, and glass block, to construct and repair walls, partitions, and other structures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong willingness to learn, excellent physical stamina, and basic knowledge of masonry techniques. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and mixing of mortar and other binding substances.
- Help lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials according to blueprints and specifications.
- Carry out repairs on existing structures, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality.
- Utilize hand tools and masonry equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with skilled brickmasons and other construction professionals to complete projects.
- Learn to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance masonry skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of masonry tools and techniques is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for transportation to job sites.
- Completion of a masonry training program or coursework is advantageous.
