Job Brief
As a Brazing Machine Setter and Setup Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending welding, soldering, and brazing machines or robots to fabricate metal products, components, or assemblies. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of various metalworking processes. Ideal candidates should possess experience in machine setup, capable of interpreting blueprints, and have a fundamental knowledge of safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate brazing, soldering, and welding machines for production runs.
- Operate laser cutters and laser-beam machines to ensure precision in metal components.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal production standards.
- Examine completed work pieces for quality assurance, ensuring they meet specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of production output, machine settings, and any issues encountered.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and product quality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding or metalworking preferred.
- Proven experience as a machine operator, specifically with brazing and welding equipment.
- Strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations relevant to machine setup and production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity for handling machinery and equipment.
- Experience with computer-controlled machines is a plus.
