Job Brief
The Boom Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating mechanical boom and cable or tower and cable equipment to lift, move, and position various materials, machinery, or products. This role requires a skilled professional with extensive experience in crane operation, a strong understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in various environments. Key skills include precision in operation, attention to detail, and effective communication with ground personnel to ensure seamless workflow.
Responsibilities
- Operate boom cranes efficiently to lift and transport materials, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Inspect crane equipment and perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate movement and positioning of loads.
- Monitor load weights and ensure safe lifting practices are adhered to at all times.
- Document operational activities and maintain accurate records of equipment usage and incidents.
- Adhere to all company policies and industry standards regarding workplace safety.
- Assist in training new operators on safe and efficient crane operation techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Boom Crane Operator or in a similar role within the construction, manufacturing, or logistics sectors.
- Valid operator’s license and certifications for boom cranes and related equipment.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in crane operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and load charts.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform duties effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
