Job Brief
The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of biomedical and electromedical equipment. Responsibilities
- Test and calibrate biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnose and repair faulty medical devices, utilizing technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on a variety of biomedical equipment.
- Document all repairs, maintenance, and inspections in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to healthcare staff on the proper use and care of medical equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment upgrades, repairs, and service contracts.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in biomedical equipment to enhance service delivery.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized body such as the AAMI or CBET is preferred.
- Proven experience in biomedical equipment repair and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of medical device regulations and safety standards.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with medical staff and vendors.
