Job Brief
As a Biomaterials Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in engineering, biology, chemistry, and biomechanics to design, develop, and evaluate innovative biomaterials for applications in medical devices, prosthetics, and health management systems. Responsibilities
- Design and develop biomaterials for medical applications, including artificial organs and prosthetic devices.
- Conduct material characterization and performance testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate biomaterials into healthcare products and systems.
- Analyze the biological response of materials in clinical environments and optimize formulations accordingly.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software for modeling and simulation of biomaterial structures.
- Stay updated on advancements in biomaterials and related technologies to drive innovation.
- Document research findings and present results to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
- Proven experience in biomaterials research and development, with a strong portfolio of projects.
- Familiarity with biocompatibility testing and regulatory approval processes for medical devices.
- Expertise in the use of analytical tools such as spectroscopy, microscopy, and mechanical testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex technical information.
- Knowledge of computer modeling software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
