Responsibilities
- Locate and communicate with customers regarding delinquent accounts via mail, telephone, or in-person visits.
- Process and post customer payments accurately to respective accounts.
- Prepare and send account statements to the credit department for customers who fail to respond.
- Initiate repossession proceedings or service disconnection as necessary for non-payment.
- Maintain detailed records of collection efforts and account statuses.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.
- Adhere to company policies and legal regulations related to debt collection.
- Generate reports on collection metrics and account statuses for management review.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in finance or accounting preferred.
- Proven experience in billing, collections, or accounts receivable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with relevant debt collection laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
