Job Brief
The Beveller Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending machines that crush, grind, or polish various materials, including coal, glass, grain, stone, food, and rubber. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in machine operation and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. Key skills include mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate bevelling machines according to specifications and production requirements.
- Operate and monitor machines to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, machine performance, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety and environmental regulations while operating machinery.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and resolve issues.
- Train new operators on machine operation and safety procedures as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machine operation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Beveller Operator or in a similar machine operation role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills related to machinery operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as required.
