Job Brief
As a Basketball Coach, you will be responsible for instructing and developing players in the fundamentals of basketball with a focus on competition readiness. Responsibilities
- Design and conduct training sessions to improve athletes’ skills and game strategies.
- Evaluate players’ performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Develop and implement game strategies and tactics in preparation for competitions.
- Monitor athletes’ physical and mental conditioning to ensure peak performance.
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages sportsmanship and collaboration.
- Identify and recruit potential athletes based on performance assessments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and coaching methodologies.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding player development and team progress.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a basketball coach at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
- Excellent understanding of basketball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
- Ability to assess and develop athletes’ skills effectively.
- Relevant coaching certifications or licenses (e.g., CPR, First Aid, or specific basketball coaching certifications).
- Experience in developing training programs tailored to individual and team needs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the sports season.
