Job Brief

As an Automotive Paint Technician, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to various spraying and rolling machines to apply coatings and paints on a wide range of automotive products and components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, precision in application, and a well-rounded understanding of different painting materials such as lacquer, enamel, and varnish. Ideal candidates will possess experience in automotive paint applications and a strong background in surface preparation techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and calibrate spray painting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper paint adhesion.
  • Mix paints and coatings according to specifications, ensuring color accuracy and consistency.
  • Apply paint using spray guns or rollers, achieving desired finishes on automotive parts and vehicles.
  • Conduct quality inspections of painted surfaces, identifying defects and making necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Document paint application processes and maintain inventory of paint supplies and materials.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of painting projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Paint Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of various painting techniques and materials, including lacquer, enamel, and rust-proofing.
  • Familiarity with surface preparation and finishing processes.
  • Ability to operate and maintain spray painting equipment effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a relevant vocational program is a plus.
  • Certifications in automotive painting or collision repair are preferred.
