Job Brief
The Assayer plays a crucial role in conducting detailed chemical and physical laboratory tests to support scientists in performing qualitative and quantitative analyses of various materials, including solids, liquids, and gases. Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical analyses and physical tests on materials to determine composition and characteristics.
- Utilize advanced laboratory techniques and equipment to perform qualitative and quantitative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory results, ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality control protocols.
- Collaborate with scientists and researchers to design experiments and interpret data effectively.
- Assist in the development of new products and processes through analytical testing and research.
- Ensure laboratory safety and environmental regulations are adhered to at all times.
- Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proven experience in laboratory testing and analysis, preferably in a research or quality control environment.
- Strong knowledge of chemical properties, laboratory equipment, and analytical techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Certification in laboratory safety and handling hazardous materials is a plus.
