Job Brief

The Artillery Meteorological Man plays a critical role in supporting ground and air defense operations by providing precise meteorological data to enhance targeting and firing accuracy. This position requires a strong understanding of weather patterns, advanced technical skills, and experience with artillery systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing environmental conditions and utilizing computer systems for weapon targeting, ensuring optimal performance during combat operations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze meteorological data to inform targeting decisions for artillery and missile systems.
  • Operate and maintain weather observation instruments and equipment.
  • Provide real-time weather updates to field artillery units to improve firing accuracy.
  • Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on meteorological instruments and artillery-related equipment.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels, including radio and wire systems.
  • Test, inspect, and store ammunition, missiles, and torpedoes in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist in the operation and troubleshooting of weapons targeting, firing, and launch computer systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop operational plans based on weather assessments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; military training in artillery operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in meteorological principles and their application in military operations.
  • Strong technical skills in operating meteorological and artillery systems.
  • Experience in conducting maintenance and inspections on artillery equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and make quick decisions.
  • Certification in meteorological operations or related field is a plus.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and deploy to various locations as required.
