Job Brief
As a Social Work Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting social service providers in delivering essential client services across various fields, including psychology, rehabilitation, and social work. Your primary responsibility will be to assist clients in identifying and obtaining available benefits and community resources. You will collaborate with social workers to develop, organize, and conduct programs aimed at preventing and resolving issues related to substance abuse, human relationships, rehabilitation, and dependent care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients in navigating social services and obtaining necessary benefits.
- Support social workers in the implementation of treatment plans and intervention strategies.
- Organize and facilitate workshops and programs to address client needs, including substance abuse prevention and rehabilitation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
- Conduct outreach activities to connect with potential clients and community resources.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to clients and their families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Monitor client progress and report findings to supervising social workers.
Requirements
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience in a social services role or relevant volunteer work is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of community resources and social service programs.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and client management software.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
