Job Brief
As a Predatory Animal Hunter, you will be responsible for the effective hunting, trapping, and gathering of wild and aquatic animals to manage wildlife populations and ensure ecological balance. This role requires expertise in using various equipment such as nets and traps, as well as knowledge of local wildlife regulations and best practices in sustainable hunting. Candidates should possess strong observational skills, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety. Prior experience in wildlife management or related fields is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys to identify and evaluate wildlife populations and habitats.
- Utilize nets, traps, and other specialized equipment to capture predatory animals effectively.
- Transport and haul captured animals to designated locations for processing or relocation.
- Monitor and maintain trapping equipment and supplies to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal wildlife regulations and ethical hunting practices.
- Document all hunting and trapping activities accurately for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with wildlife management agencies and conservation organizations.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new technologies in wildlife management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in wildlife management or related fields is a plus.
- Proven experience in hunting, trapping, or wildlife management.
- Strong knowledge of local wildlife species and their behaviors.
- Ability to operate and maintain hunting and trapping equipment effectively.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
- Valid hunting license and certifications as required by local regulations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
