Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Neon Glass Blower to join our creative team. In this role, you will mold, shape, and form vibrant neon glass products, including figurines, pipes, and decorative items. The ideal candidate will possess a strong artistic flair, technical expertise in glassblowing techniques, and experience working with various materials. You will be responsible for producing high-quality neon glass items while ensuring safety standards and maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities
- Utilize glassblowing techniques to mold and shape neon glass into various products.
- Collaborate with designers to create custom neon glass designs and products.
- Operate and maintain glassblowing tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols to minimize risks when working with hot glass and tools.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance and adherence to design specifications.
- Assist in the development of new glassblowing techniques and innovative designs.
- Keep work area organized and clean to support efficient production processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior glassblowers and apprentices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Neon Glass Blower or in a similar role within the glassworking industry.
- Strong artistic and creative skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in glassblowing tools and techniques, including shaping and molding.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in glassworking.
- Ability to interpret design specifications and collaborate with a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in glassblowing are a plus.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of glassblowing.
