Job Brief
The Wood Dowel Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending various woodworking machines, including drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, and planers. This role requires proficiency in woodworking techniques and familiarity with computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality wooden dowels, ensuring efficiency and safety in the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate woodworking machines for optimal performance.
- Operate CNC equipment to manufacture precise wooden dowels based on specifications.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality control measures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in woodworking or machining is a plus.
- Proven experience operating woodworking machinery, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and operations is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
