The Unexploded Ordnance Quality Control Worker is responsible for ensuring the safe handling, storage, and detonation of explosives used in demolition and excavation projects. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of explosives and munitions to assess quality and safety standards.
- Place and detonate explosives to demolish structures or to loosen, remove, or displace earth, rock, or other materials.
- Implement specialized handling procedures for storage and transportation of explosives.
- Maintain accurate documentation and accounting for explosives inventory and usage.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks associated with explosives.
- Coordinate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient project execution.
- Provide training and guidance on safe explosive handling practices to other personnel.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency response planning related to unexploded ordnance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in explosives handling and safety preferred.
- Proven experience in a quality control role within the explosives or demolition industry.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to explosive materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform risk assessments.
- Ability to work under pressure and in potentially hazardous environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with explosive demolition techniques and equipment.
- Current first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
