Job Brief

As a Medical Illustrator, you will create original, accurate, and visually appealing artwork to effectively communicate complex medical and scientific concepts. This role requires a strong background in both traditional and digital illustration techniques, with a focus on producing high-quality images for medical publications, educational materials, and digital platforms. Responsibilities

  • Develop original illustrations, diagrams, and animations to convey medical concepts and processes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers, and educators to gather information and ensure accuracy in artwork.
  • Utilize a variety of media and techniques, including digital software and traditional methods, to create high-quality medical illustrations.
  • Research anatomical and physiological structures to maintain precision in illustrative representations.
  • Prepare artwork for publication in medical journals, textbooks, presentations, and online platforms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in medical illustration tools and techniques.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards in illustrations.
  • Participate in peer reviews and critiques to enhance artistic and technical skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Illustration, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in medical illustration, with a strong portfolio demonstrating technical skills and creativity.
  • Proficiency in digital illustration software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CorelDRAW, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and visually compelling artwork.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software and animation techniques is a plus.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations, such as the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI), is preferred.
