Job Brief
As a Tool and Die Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and developing precision tools, dies, and specialized machinery. This role requires expertise in mechanical engineering principles and hands-on experience in tool and die fabrication processes. Responsibilities
- Design and develop tooling and die structures for manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with production requirements.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for tooling applications.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new tooling projects to ensure budget compliance and efficiency.
- Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, including heat, gas, water, and steam systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues during production.
- Implement optimization strategies to enhance tooling performance and manufacturing productivity.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations throughout all phases of tooling operations.
- Document and maintain accurate records of tooling designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Engineer or in a similar mechanical engineering role.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent design tools.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, materials science, and heat treatment processes.
- Hands-on experience with machining processes, including CNC milling, turning, and grinding.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex engineering challenges.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to tooling and manufacturing.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineering and production teams.
