Responsibilities
- Construct and assemble timber frame structures according to architectural blueprints and specifications.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery to cut, shape, and join timber materials.
- Interpret and understand technical drawings, schematics, and project plans.
- Measure, mark, and cut timber accurately to ensure precise construction.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other tradespeople to achieve project goals.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
- Perform inspections and quality control checks on timber products and structures.
- Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working condition, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Timber Framer or similar role in the woodworking industry.
- Strong knowledge of timber framing techniques, materials, and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools related to timber construction.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Certification in carpentry or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
