Job Brief
The Terrazzo Worker Helper assists in the installation and finishing of terrazzo flooring and surfaces. This entry-level position requires hands-on experience in the construction industry, specifically in flooring applications. Key skills include knowledge of terrazzo materials, mixing and pouring techniques, and the use of basic tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist skilled terrazzo workers in the preparation and installation of terrazzo flooring.
- Mix and pour terrazzo materials according to specifications.
- Prepare surfaces for terrazzo application by cleaning and leveling.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Load and unload materials and tools at job sites.
- Support in grinding and polishing terrazzo surfaces for optimal finish.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in construction preferred.
- Basic understanding of terrazzo materials and installation processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools related to flooring installation.
- Current OSHA safety certification is a plus.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
