Job Brief
As a System Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in promoting and ensuring worksite and product safety through the application of industrial processes, mechanical principles, chemistry, and psychology. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough safety assessments and hazard analyses for industrial processes and products.
- Develop and implement safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety features into product designs and operational practices.
- Perform risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of existing safety measures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices and emergency response procedures.
- Prepare detailed safety reports and documentation for regulatory compliance and audits.
- Investigate safety incidents and near misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a System Safety Engineer or in a similar role within industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of industrial health and safety laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) are a plus.
- Proficient in safety management software and tools.
