Job Brief
The Scene and Lighting Design Lecturer will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in dramatic arts, music, and applied arts, focusing on scene and lighting design. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging course content in scene and lighting design, drama, and applied arts.
- Facilitate hands-on workshops and projects to enhance student learning and creativity.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to foster academic growth.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies that incorporate current industry trends.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a comprehensive curriculum that addresses various aspects of the arts.
- Conduct research in the field of scene and lighting design, contributing to academic publications and presentations.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program development and improvement.
- Engage with the local arts community to create opportunities for student involvement and networking.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Theatre, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in scene and lighting design, with a strong portfolio of work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective student engagement.
- Familiarity with industry-standard design software and tools.
- Experience in curriculum development and learning assessment strategies.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Prior teaching experience at the higher education level is a plus.
