The Direct Mail Clerk plays a crucial role in managing the flow of incoming and outgoing mail. Responsibilities
- Prepare incoming mail by time-stamping, opening, reading, and sorting for distribution.
- Route incoming mail to appropriate departments and personnel.
- Handle outgoing mail by addressing, sealing, stamping, folding, and stuffing packages.
- Affix postage accurately based on weight and destination.
- Maintain necessary records and completed forms related to mail processing.
- Ensure compliance with postal regulations and company policies in mail handling.
- Assist in managing inventory of mailing supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to improve mail processing efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in mail handling are a plus.
- Proven experience as a mail clerk or similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with postal regulations and mailing software.
- Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting and moving packages.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
