Job Brief
As a Predatory Animal Exterminator, you will be responsible for the effective management and control of wild animal populations that pose a threat to human safety, agriculture, or property. Your primary tasks will involve hunting, trapping, and capturing various predatory animals using specialized equipment and techniques. Candidates should possess experience in wildlife management, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to preserving the ecological balance while minimizing human-wildlife conflict.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field assessments to identify predatory animal populations and evaluate risks to livestock and crops.
- Utilize traps, nets, and other specialized equipment to catch and relocate or euthanize animals as needed.
- Implement humane and environmentally responsible methods for animal control.
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working condition to optimize field operations.
- Document and report findings, including animal behavior and population trends, to relevant authorities.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding wildlife management and animal control.
- Educate property owners on preventative measures to reduce wildlife-related issues.
- Collaborate with wildlife agencies and conservation organizations to promote sustainable practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in wildlife management or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in animal control, wildlife management, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of local wildlife regulations and animal behavior.
- Ability to operate and maintain trapping and hunting equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent physical fitness and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to ethical practices.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites.
- Certification in wildlife control or pest management may be required.
