Job Brief
The Precision Lens Centerer and Edger is responsible for cutting, grinding, and polishing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other precision optical elements. Responsibilities
- Operate precision lens edgers and polishers to cut, grind, and finish lenses according to specifications.
- Assemble and mount lenses into frames, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
- Inspect finished lenses for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain and calibrate optical machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Utilize measuring tools and equipment to verify lens specifications and dimensions.
- Collaborate with optical technicians and support staff to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in optical technology.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in optics preferred.
- Proven experience as a lens centerer, edger, or in a similar optical fabrication role.
- Strong technical skills in operating optical machinery and tools.
- Attention to detail and precision in lens cutting and finishing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
