Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Stylist to provide exceptional grooming and care to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and other non-consumable pets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care, grooming techniques, and customer service skills. As a Pet Stylist, you will be responsible for promoting the well-being of pets through grooming, bathing, and overall care while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various pets.
- Assess the health and condition of pets prior to grooming and report any concerns to pet owners.
- Provide a safe and comfortable environment for pets during grooming sessions.
- Maintain cleanliness by regularly cleaning and disinfecting grooming tools, cages, and work areas.
- Feed, water, and exercise pets as needed to promote their overall well-being.
- Document grooming services, pet conditions, and any treatments administered.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to discuss grooming options and address any questions or concerns.
- Stay updated on current grooming trends and techniques to enhance service offerings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in animal grooming is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Pet Stylist or in a similar animal care role.
- Strong knowledge of various grooming techniques, tools, and safety protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with animals.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
- Basic understanding of animal behavior and health signs.
- Physical stamina to handle grooming tasks and manage multiple pets.
- First Aid/CPR certification for pets is an advantage.
