Job Brief

As a Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide essential care for infants, children, and adolescents in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private homes. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to support the health and well-being of pediatric patients. This role requires compassion, strong clinical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both children and their guardians. Ideal candidates will have experience in pediatric care and a keen understanding of child development, along with the necessary licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician or registered nurse.
  • Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and health status, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, feeding, and dressing children.
  • Provide emotional support to pediatric patients and their families, ensuring a comforting environment.
  • Educate families about health management, nutrition, and preventive care specific to pediatric populations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individual care plans for pediatric patients.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for children by adhering to infection control protocols.

Requirements

  • Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with specialization in pediatrics preferred.
  • Proven experience in pediatric nursing or acute care settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with children and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required; pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development stages and pediatric health issues.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare software.
