Job Brief
The Parish Religious Education Director oversees the design and coordination of religious education programs, fostering spiritual growth and community engagement within the parish. Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate religious education programs for various age groups within the parish.
- Coordinate outreach efforts to promote participation in religious activities and educational opportunities.
- Provide counseling and guidance to parishioners regarding marital, health, financial, and spiritual issues.
- Collaborate with clergy and church staff to align educational programs with overall parish goals.
- Facilitate workshops, retreats, and seminars to enhance spiritual growth and community involvement.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and educators involved in religious education initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with families, ensuring effective communication and support.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of programs, making adjustments as necessary to meet community needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven experience in educational program development and leadership within a religious setting.
- Strong counseling and interpersonal skills to support parishioners’ diverse needs.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all parish members.
- Familiarity with digital tools and platforms for program management and outreach.
