Job Brief

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal Instructor to deliver comprehensive vocational training in paralegal studies. This role involves teaching students who have graduated from or left high school, providing them with the essential skills and knowledge necessary for entry-level positions in the legal field. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in legal principles, paralegal practices, and effective instructional techniques, ensuring an engaging learning environment that promotes student success.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement curriculum for paralegal courses that align with industry standards and educational objectives.
  • Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training in paralegal subjects such as legal research, writing, and ethics.
  • Assess student performance through examinations, assignments, and practical assessments, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Utilize various teaching methods, including technology-enhanced learning tools, to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal trends and developments to ensure course content is relevant and accurate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a paralegal or in a legal environment.
  • Prior teaching or instructional experience in a vocational education setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and ethics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including legal research databases and learning management systems.
  • Certifications such as Certified Paralegal (CP) or National Certified Legal Assistant (NCLA) are a plus.
