Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Tactical Automated Fire Control Systems Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for targeting, firing, and maintaining advanced weapon systems utilized to neutralize enemy positions, aircraft, and vessels. You will conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and operational testing of artillery, missiles, and torpedoes, while ensuring effective communication through radio and wire systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in artillery systems and experience with computer-based targeting and firing systems.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain artillery, missile, and torpedo systems for ground and naval combat operations.
- Conduct thorough inspections and testing of ammunition, missiles, and torpedoes to ensure operational readiness.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on tactical automated fire control systems and related equipment.
- Establish and maintain effective radio and wire communications for coordinated fire missions.
- Utilize computer systems for targeting, firing, and launching weapons, ensuring precision and accuracy.
- Document maintenance activities and prepare reports on weapon systems status and performance.
- Train and mentor junior personnel in the operation and maintenance of fire control systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with other military units to execute fire support plans and tactics during operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; military training in artillery or fire control systems is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of automated fire control systems, artillery, and missile operations.
- Experience in conducting maintenance and inspections of military weapons systems.
- Proficiency in using computer-based targeting and firing systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective communications under various conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to obtain necessary certifications and complete ongoing training as required.
