Job Brief
The Oil Well Pumper is responsible for operating power pumps and auxiliary equipment to facilitate the extraction of oil or gas from wells in an oil field. This role requires hands-on experience with pump operation and maintenance, ensuring optimal production levels while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor power pumps to regulate the flow of oil or gas from production wells.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of pumping equipment to ensure reliable operation.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.
- Implement safety procedures and comply with environmental regulations to minimize operational risks.
- Coordinate with field technicians and supervisors to optimize production and address operational issues.
- Conduct regular inspections of well sites and equipment to identify potential maintenance needs.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new personnel in operational procedures and safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oil and gas production or related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and withstand varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple job sites as necessary.
