Job Brief

As an Aeronautical Drafter, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of aircraft and aerospace products. Your primary responsibilities include preparing detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, fastening methods, and other essential engineering information. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical drawing skills, proficiency in CAD software, and a foundational understanding of aerodynamics and material properties. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with engineers and other professionals in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Create precise and detailed technical drawings and schematics for aerospace components.
  • Utilize CAD software to develop 2D and 3D models of aircraft systems and parts.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure design specifications are met and maintained.
  • Review and modify existing drawings to reflect design changes and improvements.
  • Prepare documentation for manufacturing processes including assembly instructions.
  • Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in the development of design prototypes and testing procedures.
  • Stay updated on advancements in aerospace technology and drafting techniques.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and aerodynamics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, including AS9100.
  • Previous experience in aerospace drafting or related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
