Job Brief
The Music Pastor will lead and inspire the musical ministry within the church, conducting, directing, planning, and performing instrumental and vocal music. This role requires a passionate individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of music theology. The Music Pastor will collaborate with ministry teams to enhance worship services and create original compositions that resonate with the congregation. Proven experience in music direction, performance, and team leadership is essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and direct choirs, bands, and orchestras during worship services and special events.
- Plan and coordinate music programs that align with the church’s vision and mission.
- Lead rehearsals and provide constructive feedback to musicians and vocalists.
- Create and arrange original music compositions for worship settings.
- Collaborate with pastoral staff to integrate music into church services and community events.
- Recruit, train, and mentor musicians and vocalists within the church community.
- Develop and manage budgets for music ministry, including equipment and resources.
- Stay current with contemporary worship trends and music styles to engage the congregation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Worship Leadership, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in music ministry or a similar role within a church setting.
- Strong proficiency in vocal and instrumental performance.
- Knowledge of music theory, composition, and arrangement techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and individuals.
- Familiarity with music software and audio equipment.
- Commitment to spiritual growth and understanding of worship theology.
