Job Brief
The Logging Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and overhauling mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, including cranes, bulldozers, graders, and conveyors, utilized in construction, logging, and mining industries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy equipment mechanics, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues effectively. Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in logging equipment and machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mobile construction and logging equipment.
- Overhaul and rebuild engines, transmissions, and other critical components of heavy machinery.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
- Collaborate with team members to improve equipment functionality and performance.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and techniques in heavy equipment repair.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Logging Equipment Mechanic or in a similar role within the construction or logging sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Certification in heavy equipment repair or equivalent vocational training is preferred.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
