Job Brief
As a Liquid Waste Treatment Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating and controlling the entire treatment process of wastewater, utilizing advanced machinery and control systems. This role requires a strong understanding of liquid waste management protocols and the ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize treatment systems. Ideal candidates will possess relevant experience in wastewater operations, along with technical skills in equipment handling and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment equipment using control boards and automated systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of treatment processes to ensure optimal operational efficiency and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including pumps, valves, and filtration systems, to prevent downtime.
- Collect and analyze samples of treated and untreated water for quality control and reporting purposes.
- Respond to alarms and system alerts promptly, troubleshooting issues as they arise to maintain continuous operation.
- Maintain accurate records of operational activities, maintenance logs, and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with team members and management to develop and implement process improvements for enhanced waste treatment efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in liquid waste treatment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in wastewater treatment is preferred.
- Proven experience working in a liquid waste treatment facility or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining treatment equipment, including pumps, mixers, and chemical feed systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, safety data sheets, and operational protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and regulatory agencies.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
