Job Brief
The Iron Pourer is responsible for operating hand-controlled mechanisms to pour and regulate the flow of molten metal into molds, producing high-quality castings or ingots. Responsibilities
- Operate hand-controlled mechanisms to pour molten metal into molds with precision and accuracy.
- Monitor and adjust the flow of molten metal to ensure optimal casting quality.
- Inspect molds and castings for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain and clean pouring equipment to uphold safety and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline production processes and improve casting techniques.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in handling molten metals and operating machinery.
- Document production activities and report any equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in metalworking or foundry operations is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Iron Pourer or in a similar role within a foundry environment.
- Strong knowledge of metal casting processes, materials, and safety regulations.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, standing for long periods and lifting heavy materials.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
