Job Brief

As an Ice Skating Coach, you will be responsible for instructing and coaching athletes of varying skill levels in the fundamentals of ice skating, with a focus on preparing them for competitions. Your role will involve demonstrating techniques, developing training programs, and evaluating athletes’ strengths and weaknesses to enhance their performance. A successful Ice Skating Coach will possess strong communication skills, a comprehensive understanding of competitive ice skating, and the ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their personal best.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group ice skating lessons, focusing on technique and competition preparation.
  • Design and implement training programs tailored to the specific needs and goals of each athlete.
  • Evaluate and assess athletes’ performance to identify areas for improvement and develop personalized strategies.
  • Provide constructive feedback to athletes to enhance their skills and confidence on the ice.
  • Monitor athletes’ progress and adjust training plans as necessary to ensure continued development.
  • Stay updated on the latest coaching techniques, trends in competitive ice skating, and safety protocols.
  • Foster a positive and supportive training environment that encourages teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate athlete progress and set expectations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an ice skating coach or instructor, preferably with a focus on competitive training.
  • In-depth knowledge of ice skating techniques, training methodologies, and competition standards.
  • Certification in coaching or teaching in the sport of ice skating is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with athletes and their families.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire athletes of all ages and skill levels.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for training and competitions.
  • Passion for ice skating and commitment to athlete development and well-being.
