Job Brief
As a Grounds Caretaker, you will be responsible for the landscape maintenance and overall care of property grounds. This role requires hands-on experience with a variety of gardening and landscaping tasks, including but not limited to sod laying, mowing, trimming, and planting. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, strong physical stamina, and proficiency in using both hand and power tools. A background in horticulture or landscape management is preferred, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the landscape and grounds of properties through regular mowing, trimming, and edging.
- Install and care for sod, plants, and trees, ensuring healthy growth and vibrant aesthetics.
- Utilize hand and power tools effectively for various landscaping tasks.
- Water, fertilize, and prune plants to promote optimal health and appearance.
- Implement irrigation systems and maintain sprinkler installations to ensure proper watering.
- Perform general clean-up and maintenance of grounds, including raking and debris removal.
- Assist in the installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing all grounds maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in horticulture or landscape management is a plus.
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscaping roles.
- Ability to operate various landscaping equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong physical condition and ability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Knowledge of plant care, pest management, and landscaping best practices.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
