Job Brief

We are seeking a dedicated Geriatric Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs aimed at enhancing mobility, alleviating pain, and improving strength in elderly patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving the quality of life for older adults.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical abilities and limitations related to aging and medical conditions.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that address patients’ specific needs and rehabilitation goals.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, coordination, and balance.
  • Monitor and document patients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, injury prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide holistic patient care.
  • Utilize appropriate assistive devices and technologies to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and ethical guidelines in physical therapy practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in geriatric physical therapy preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic and neurological conditions affecting elderly patients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and rehabilitation software.
  • Certification in geriatrics (e.g., GCS or similar) is a plus.
