Job Brief
The Forklift Technician is responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and overhauling various mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment used in construction, logging, and mining. Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform troubleshooting on forklifts and related equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
- Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Overhaul hydraulic and pneumatic systems to maintain optimal performance.
- Document repairs and maintenance activities accurately to maintain service records.
- Collaborate with team members to improve repair processes and operational efficiency.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in forklift technology.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in forklift repair or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Technician or in a similar mechanical role.
- Strong knowledge of mobile mechanical systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic technologies.
- Proficient in using diagnostic and repair tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a plus.
- Willingness to undergo continuous training and development in emerging technologies.
