Job Brief

The Environmental Health Sanitarian is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing work environments to design effective programs and procedures that control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, biological agents, and ergonomic factors. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of facilities to assess compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Design and implement health and safety programs to promote a safe working environment.
  • Investigate reports of environmental health issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of findings and recommendations based on inspections and analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proven experience in environmental health inspections and compliance enforcement.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental health laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for report writing and training.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis software and health inspection tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
