Job Brief

As an EMT I/85, you will play a vital role in emergency medical services by assessing injuries and illnesses, providing basic emergency medical care, and transporting patients to medical facilities as needed. Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ conditions and vital signs to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
  • Provide immediate basic emergency medical care, including CPR, wound care, and management of medical emergencies.
  • Safely transport injured or ill patients to medical facilities while monitoring their condition.
  • Document patient care and interventions accurately and timely in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with other emergency responders and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain and inspect emergency medical equipment and supplies to ensure readiness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Follow all local, state, and federal regulations regarding emergency medical services and patient confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an EMT training program is required.
  • Current EMT certification from a recognized certifying body.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent is required.
  • Strong understanding of emergency medical protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure in emergency situations.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
