Job Brief
As an Elevator Installer, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining electric or hydraulic freight and passenger elevators, escalators, and dumbwaiters. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and safety regulations. Ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience in elevator installation and repair, along with a dedication to ensuring optimal equipment performance and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install various types of elevators, escalators, and dumbwaiters according to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation of elevator systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using specialized tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure proper installation and compliance with building codes.
- Perform safety inspections and testing on installed machinery to identify potential hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used during installation and repairs.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients during installation and maintenance processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and safety regulations to enhance skillset and service quality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in elevator technology preferred.
- Proven experience as an elevator installer or technician, with a solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in elevator installation and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
