Job Brief
As an Electric Meter Reader, you will be responsible for accurately reading and recording consumption data for electricity, gas, water, or steam meters. Responsibilities
- Read and record meter readings for electricity, gas, water, or steam accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect meters for any signs of malfunction or damage and report findings to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure timely collection of data to maintain accurate billing and service records.
- Communicate with customers regarding meter readings and address any inquiries or concerns.
- Maintain records of daily readings and service reports using designated software tools.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the field.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on meters as required.
- Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency and accuracy of meter reading processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience in utility services, meter reading, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in using handheld devices and software for data entry and record-keeping.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Physical stamina to walk long distances and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for fieldwork.
