Job Brief

The Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in various facilities. Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to maintain cleanliness.
  • Shampoo carpets and rugs to ensure a pristine appearance and hygienic conditions.
  • Wash walls, windows, and glass surfaces to enhance overall facility aesthetics.
  • Remove rubbish and manage waste disposal in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Tend to furnace and boiler systems, ensuring proper operation and safety.
  • Conduct routine maintenance activities and notify management of repair needs.
  • Clear snow and debris from sidewalks and entryways to maintain accessibility.
  • Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience in custodial or janitorial services.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, along with safe handling practices.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Basic understanding of building maintenance tasks is a plus.
