Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Communications Equipment Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, setup, rearrangement, and removal of critical communications equipment, including switching, distribution, routing, and dialing systems in central offices or headends. You will also service and repair various communications systems such as telephone, cable television, and internet services on customer properties. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience and technical expertise in communications wiring and equipment installation.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain switching, distribution, routing, and dialing equipment in central offices or headends.
- Service and repair telephone, cable television, and internet communications equipment at customer sites.
- Install communications wiring and equipment within residential and commercial buildings.
- Conduct routine inspections and tests on communications systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Document installation and service activities accurately for compliance and future reference.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations during all installations and repairs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Communications Equipment Installer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, wiring, and installation practices.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for various communications equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
