Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with colorectal conditions.
- Conduct surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and open surgeries, to treat colorectal diseases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal surgical outcomes.
- Monitor and manage post-operative care to ensure patient recovery and address any complications.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, recovery processes, and lifestyle changes.
- Participate in clinical research to enhance surgical techniques and improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to regulatory and compliance standards.
- Stay current with advancements in colorectal surgery through continuous education and professional development.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency in general surgery followed by a fellowship in colorectal surgery.
- Board certification in colorectal surgery.
- Proven experience in colorectal surgical procedures, including minimally invasive techniques.
- Strong knowledge of patient management and post-operative care.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions under pressure.
