Job Brief
As a Coal Hauler Operator, you will play a crucial role in the efficient extraction and transportation of coal within underground mining operations. Your primary responsibility will involve operating loading and moving machinery to load or transport core, ore, or rock using specialized equipment such as shuttle cars, mine cars, and conveyors. Responsibilities
- Operate underground loading and moving machines to efficiently load and transport coal and minerals.
- Utilize power shovels, hoisting engines, and machines equipped with gathering arms and conveyors.
- Monitor equipment performance and conduct regular inspections to ensure optimal operation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with mining teams to coordinate loading schedules and optimize workflow.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery as needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of loads transported and other operational data.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training in heavy machinery operation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Coal Hauler Operator or in a similar role within the mining industry.
- Strong understanding of underground mining operations and equipment.
- Valid operator’s license and any necessary certifications for heavy machinery operation.
- Ability to work in physically demanding and confined underground environments.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices within the coal mining industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
