Job Brief
As a Chicken Vaccinator, you will play a crucial role in the health management of poultry by administering vaccinations and medications to ensure optimal growth and disease prevention. Responsibilities
- Administer vaccinations and medications to poultry and other farm animals to promote health and prevent disease.
- Monitor and assess the health status of chickens, identifying signs of illness or distress.
- Maintain accurate records of vaccinations, treatments, and health observations.
- Assist in the management of biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
- Work collaboratively with farm management to develop vaccination schedules and health protocols.
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and best practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of animal housing areas to support a healthy environment.
- Provide support during animal handling, including weighing, loading, and transportation as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in animal science or veterinary technology is a plus.
- Proven experience in animal husbandry, particularly with poultry.
- Familiarity with vaccination protocols and animal health management.
- Strong observational skills to detect signs of illness and injury in animals.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks associated with animal care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate farm machinery is preferred.
